Issues fixed

Slow loading level and aero disabling

Occurs only on Windows Vista and Windows 7, because of the special graphic stack WDDM.
Fix slow load level and spontaneous shutdown aero interface
  • Install game only on Windows XP, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.[2]

Notes

Using Windows 8.1 or 10 significantly reduces the launch time of the level, perhaps this is due to improvements in the WDDM graphics stack.[3]

Control key settings are not assigned

Keyboard settings reset to unassigned when you restart the game
Control key settings are not assigned fix
  • Need run game as Administrator

Black screen patch

Some device configurations (usually USB devices) can make the game hang at startup showing a black screen. This can also happen under Wine (Linux or OS X). This patch makes the game bypass the device enumeration.

Apply the patch[citation needed]
Before applying the patch, make a backup of the game.exe file in case the modifications go wrong.
  1. For Vista and later: make sure you have SAS Secure Tomorrow installed in a folder that can be modified by regular programs (e.g. C:\Games\SASST)
  2. Download sasstfix.exe and run it.
  3. Press the "Locate and patch game.exe" button.
  4. Using the dialog box that will appear, locate the game.exe file in your SAS Secure Tomorrow installation.

Soft Shadows not working

Soft Shadows not working but setting enabled
Soft Shadows fix
  • Need disable anti-aliasing in game options
This is due to the features of the engine and the artificial limitation of the simultaneous use of anti-aliasing with soft shadows, since they can cause graphic artifacts on the shadows.
