Issues fixed

Trouble entering the game

Add launch option^[4]

Right-click on the game in your Steam library and select Properties.
Select Set Launch Options and enter: -force-d3d11.

Notes

This applies to those using Windows 8.1.

Artifacts on textures

Execute console command^[5]
Open the console (`F1` by default) Enter `gfx.all false` and press `↵ Enter`

Server browser and crafting menus are invisible (Linux)

Run the game in windowed mode^[6]
Start the game from Steam and choose Play Rust to bring up the configuration window In the Graphics tab activate the Windowed tickbox

Game crashes when joining a server on NVIDIA 396 driver (Linux)

Disable OpenGL's Collapsed Arrays for Rust^[7]

Open Preferences → Set Launch Options... and add the following line

__GL_GlslUseCollapsedArrays=0 %command%

Disable censorship

Remove censorship (genitals will no longer be pixelated)^{[citation needed]}
Open the console (`F1` by default). Enter `censor.nudity false` and press `↵ Enter`.

Play music on the guitar

For windows you can use the Unofficial Rust Guitar Tool, and for Linux use Rust Guitar. Note that they use different formats for playable songs, with Rust Guitar using basic MIDI files.

Though not a cheat and designed to be transparent to the game, could potentially trigger Easy Anti-Cheat. Use at your own risk!
