Issues unresolved

Frozen ship bug

Sometimes the game will completely freeze, and the ships and timer will also freeze (although it is still possible to interact with the towns.[1]

Talking to the Architect in town and accessing the Build grid seems to unfreeze time, though the bug might still recur.

Missing Building Name In Town

When a player reaches a certain rank, building names over buildings disappear.

Shipyard Bug

When a shipyard has more than 1 ship to offer, it frequently auto-selects the 1st ship. Players could accidentally buy the wrong ship if they are not clicking the buy button fast enough.

Reputation Bug

On version 1.1.2 quests aren't giving any reputation increase.

Issues fixed

Autosave

Reportedly, loading a game will not allow saves to be made automatically.[2]

This can be fixed by starting a new game, and then loading the save game again.[3] [4]

Autosave timer can also be adjusted by going into the Options.cfg in %APPDATA%\Kalypsomedia\Port Royale 3\

There is a section where one can adjust the number of seconds between autosaves:

[Autosave]
Timer = 480

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/205610/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (205610) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
