Persona 4 Golden is a remaster of the JRPG game Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden, previously released July 10, 2008 on PlayStation 2 and June 14, 2012 on PlayStation Vita, featuring enhanced graphics and upscaled cinematics. The game includes a new dungeon, a new ending, new social links, new difficulty levels and many more.[1] It was remastered by Atlus and Preapp Partners.
Persona 4 was released on Steam on June 13, 2020, following a surprise announcement on the PC Gaming Show.
In a technical review, IGN described Persona 4 Golden as "a fantastic way to play [the] game, with solid graphics options, arbitrary resolution and framerate support, relatively fast loading times, and good support for remappable keyboard controls" as well as "Steam features such as achievements and cloud saves being included, and even the minor online aspects of the “Golden” version were faithfully ported".[2]

Issues unresolved
Issues fixed
Lagging videos
- Certain video files' bitrate exceeds 30 Mbps, which may be too much for slower storage mediums to decode in real-time.
Use Unp4cker to extract videos and re-encode at a lower bitrate[5] |
---|
|
Only 1920x1080 resolution available on higher resolution monitors
- Software doesn't appear to be DPI aware and having DPI set to anything other than 100% in Windows triggers this behavior.
Use Special K |

|
Use DPI compatibility setting for the game executable[6] |

|
Run the game in windowed mode and restart |

Using Playstation Vita save files
- As the game save data is identical with Vita version of the game, it is possible to copy games save file and use it with PC version of the game with very little work.
- You need to have a modded Vita in order to decrypt and transfer the save game data to PC!

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in
~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/1113000/
in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (1113000) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
