Essential improvements

No airplane or helicopter sounds

Current DOSBox versions have a bug that prevents airplane and helicopter sounds occurring during gameplay.
Use DOSBox-X[citation needed]

Notes

DOSBox-X has a fix for the missing sounds.

Game auto-starts

The game automatically starts, instead of waiting at the title screen for you to press a key or fire button.
Disconnect second joystick[citation needed]

Notes

The game will automatically start, if a second joystick is attached. Therefore disconnect it.
Alternatively this can also happen in DOSBox with a single joystick attached, if you have joystick_type=auto or joystick_type=4axis. If so, set joystick_type=2axis instead in your DOSBox config file.
