Article state tags are special notices that declare the state of the page. Always placed at the absolute top of an article (before the infobox and any {{disambig}} tag), they also allow the wiki to keep track of pages that are incomplete and/or do not match the standards in this guide.

There are 4 main tags available.

Stub tag

Template documentation

Syntax

{{stub}}

Example

This page is a stub: it lacks content and/or basic article components. You can help to expand this page by adding an image or additional information.

The stub tag is for pages that do not meet minimum requirements for a "proper" article. This can include tables with no data, no screenshots present, and missing article elements/tables.

The tag should only be removed once all the required tables and screenshots are added/filled in.

Cleanup tag

Template documentation

Syntax

{{cleanup|Description of specific issues}}
{{cleanup|section|Description of specific issues}}

Example

This page may require cleanup to meet basic quality standards. The specific problem is: Description of specific issues. You can help by modifying the article. The discussion page may contain useful suggestions.
This section may require cleanup to meet basic quality standards. The specific problem is: Description of specific issues. You can help by modifying the article. The discussion page may contain useful suggestions.

The cleanup tag is placed at the top of articles or sections that have issues with content formatting or outdated content. Any articles that do not match the standards in the editing guide fall under this label.

The tag should only be removed once the offending article element(s) are made to match the wiki's standards.

State tag

Template documentation

Syntax

{{State|state=prototype/dev/postdev/unplayable/unknown}}

The state tag is a multi-use label that states the current condition of the game the article is covering.

Note that the tag should only be removed once the tag is no longer relevant to the game (i.e. game is fully released, not under active development). The tag should also be updated when the state of the game has changed (ex. game has moved from development/Early Access to release state).

There are 5 primary tags available:

Template documentation

Syntax

Example

Guide icon.svg
This page is a candidate for deletion. If you disagree with its status, please open a discussion. Reason: None. This is a test of the delete tag

The delete tag is for any wiki page or file that should be removed from the wiki for one reason or another. When used properly, it helps out the PCGamingWiki staff in keeping the wiki as clean as possible.

The tag can only be removed by either a mod, admin, or the contributor that originally tagged the offending page.

Valid reasons for using the tag

  • A file has been replaced by a newer version with a different file format.
  • The page contains spam or offensive material of any kind.
