Essential improvements
Outrun2006Tweaks
- A mod with enhancements & fixes for most of the issues in this article.
- The UI can now scale to different aspect ratios without stretching.
- The game can now be run in borderless windowed mode.
- Adds a built-in framelimiter and the frame rate can now be partially unlocked.
- Load times are heavily reduced by disabling framelimiter/vsync during load screens.
- Fixes C2C scoreboards not updating on Steam and other releases due to faulty anti-piracy checks.
- Reduces z-fighting & object pop-in.
- Restores XInput rumble code from the Xbox release.
- Fixes the lens flare effect and others that were originally broken in this port.
- Support for custom music and textures, including HD textures.
- Many other bug fixes and features.
Fix broken audio track
- The track "Rush a Difficulty" in the PC port is missing the first 2 seconds.
- This fix does not address the rest of the games audio issues and so is less comprehensive then the Perfect Music Mod, but does not require Outrun2006Tweaks.

Texture Pack: Console Button Prompts and Correct Sprites for Clarissa and Holly
- Corrects the sprites for both Clarissa and Holly to use arcade textures rather than the unfinished versions used in the Coast 2 Coast port.
- This method provides options for Xbox, PlayStation or PC button prompts.
- This also gives you the option to use Clarissa's more revealing outfit from the Japanese version.

Lossless, Higher Quality, Looping Music
- A more comprehensive fix to the game's music than the SoundtrackFix package.
- Requires at least v0.5 of OutRun2006Tweaks with AllowFLAC enabled.
- Replaces the original ogg files with lossless, looping flac versions sourced from official soundtracks. Also replaces the title screen audio, fixes panning/mixing issues, restores the first two seconds of "Rush A Difficulty" and makes track selection samples loop seamlessly.

Miscellaneous
OutRun 2 FXT
- Deprecated, use Outrun2006Tweaks instead for more up-to-date fixes and enhancements not covered by FXT.
- Replacement configuration tool that adds XInput rumble support, custom resolutions, windowed mode, additional camera views and more. Can be downloaded here.
- Running
FXTConfig.exeas admin for is required for first time use to apply its settings. Launch the game usingOR2FXT.exeinstead of its stock executable to ensure the modifications stick. - Before attempting to install texture replacement mods with OutRun FXT, make sure
<path-to-game>\FXTcfg\texpacks\original\is empty and the game's files are not flagged as read-only to avoid errors. - FXT includes overlay graphics replacing their original counterparts, however this feature currently only works properly in fullscreen mode and breaks when forcing window mode. Alternately disable
Enable Overlayfrom OutRun 2 FXT's configuration tool [8]
