Flip model presentation

Flip model presentation is a presentation model designed to make windowed mode effectively equivalent or better when compared to the classic "fullscreen exclusive" mode.
In Ori and the Will of the Wisps, this mode can alleviate or fully eliminate issues such as bad frame pacing, camera stutters while panning, G-Sync not working, and similar.
Use Special K
  1. Install the global injection of Special K.
  2. If this is for the Steam version, go to step 4.
  3. Users of the Microsoft Store version also have to to whitelist the game executable for Special K:
    1. After the installation, navigate to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Global
    2. Open the file whitelist.ini in a text editor, or create it if it does not exist.
    3. Add oriandthewillofthewisps-pc.exe to the bottom of the file, then save and close it.
  4. Launch the game. If everything was done right the overlay of Special K should appear at the top of the game.
  5. Press Ctrl+ Shift+← Backspace to open the control panel of Special K.
  6. Expand the Direct3D 11 Settings section and the subsection called SwapChain Management.
  7. Enable Use Flip Model Presentation.
    • Optional: enable Waitable SwapChain as well to lower input latency additionally at the cost of being unable to change resolution of the game.
  8. Close the control panel and then restart the game to confirm everything works.
    • If everything works the popup shown while hovering over Window/Fullscreen Resolution at the top of the Special K control panel should show Discard (flip).
    • If the game does not launch properly, open the game-specific config file and change UseFlipDiscard to false.
      • Or remove the config file entirely to reset all of the settings to their default value.
