Set with D3D8 Wrapper^{[citation needed]}
Download D3D8 Wrapper. Extract to `<path-to-game>`. Edit `d3d8.ini`. Set `ForceWindowedMode` to `1`.

In the retail and GOG.com versions, all controller buttons must be assigned manually. Also requires a fix for XInput controllers.

Fix button assignment^{[citation needed]}
Download and run XInput Plus. Set the Target Program to Obscure.exe. Go to DirectInput and check Enable DirectInput Output. Assign LT/RT to Button 11/12 Assign DPAD to Button 13-16 Click on Customize and change the following: Assign Right Stick-X to Slider1 Assign Right Stick-Y to Slider2 Click Apply, this will install DLL files in the installation folder.
