Not For Broadcast is self-described propaganda sim, in which the player is put in charge National Nightly News. The game combines full 3D environment of TV station's control room, with FMV segments recorded from different cameras, which the player has to switch in between in order to maximise viewership. Occasionally player is also given a choice on how to portray certain news fragment, what to advertise in between news segments and even whatever to break a law in order to help people that may suffer under the highly radical government.
The game was released as Early Access title for Windows on January 30, 2020 and was met with overwhelmingly positive response from Steam users.[2] The game was then updated with various quality of life improvements based on player feedback, as well as a performance fix for (then already deprecated) Windows 7.[3] Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic however, the recording and development of Episode 2 was delayed, with a separate new episode called "Lockdown" being recorded in home isolation and implemented into the game as a free update on June 25, 2020.[4]
As of today, the game is still in active development and remains fully playable without any major flaws being reported.
