Key points

No DLCs for the PC version. DLC content can still be accessed by modding the game, see How to get DLC cars and tracks.
The Origin version might have problems with DRM files. A No-CD Patch or Paul.dll and winui.dll from Origin Medal of Honor 2010 can help this.[citation needed]

How to get DLC cars and tracks

Install the DLC files[3]
  1. Install the NFS Shift 1.02 patch for your region.
  2. Unpack the game with Shift unpacker.
  3. Copy JSGME to the installation folder. Run the executable and allow it to create the MODS folder.
  4. Download the DLC files (cars and tracks) and extract them in the MODS folder.
  5. Run JSGME again and click the right arrow button to install the DLC files.
  6. Add -loose to the NFS Shift shortcut/launch options.
All cars of the Team Racing Pack will become invisible. It is recommended to make another copy of the game.

UI Gamepad Icons

Add Missing Gamepad Icons for UI
  1. Download Gamepad Icons.
  2. Unpack "Gamepad buttons.zip"
  3. Open the preferred button icons folder (PlayStation or XBox)
  4. Replace "Global.bff" in ../Need for Speed Shift/UI/Textures with the "Global.bff" from the unpacked zip.
  5. Launch the game. It should immediately be working in the main menu.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/24870/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (24870) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
