Mortal Shell is a singleplayer third-person action RPG game developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack. The game uses Unreal Engine 4.

A closed beta for the game was announced on June 11, 2020 and was available from July 3 to July 10, 2020.[2] The beta has generated significant interest, resulting in the developer opening it up to everyone which has led to 350,000 players ending up playing the beta.[3][4] The game was released on August 18, 2020 as a one year exclusive to Epic Games Store, scheduled to be released on Steam and GOG in Q3 2021.[5]

Field of view (FOV)

Use the Universal Unreal Engine 4 Console Unlocker to force any FOV value[12]
  1. Follow the instructions to enable the developer console in the game.
  2. Enter FOV X where X is the desired value.
Resets at cutscenes and needs to be readjusted afterwards.
Requires to be run after each game launch.
Change FOV scaling to vertical[12]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add the following and save the file.

This edit causes the game to have incorrect FOV at 16:9 resolutions, severely zooming out from the character.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)

Anisotropic filtering quality can be adjusted by changing the value between 0 and 16.
