===Promotional Twitch Drops===
+
Mortal Shell ran a Twitch Drop promo campaign around August 2021 for the launch of their Virtuous Cycle DLC. Players would connect their Steam/Epic (not GOG) accounts to Twitch, watch affiliated streamers stream Mortal Shell, and receive in-game unlocks after watching/idling for several hours. Once the campaign ended, these in-game unlocks were unobtainable, and [https://www.gog.com/forum/mortal_shell/twitch_drops were never available for GOG players].
+
+
Here's how you can unlock them:
+
+
1. Backup your savegame. Copy the folder
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\MortalShell\Dungeonhaven\Saved\SaveGames\
or use [http://mikemaximus.github.io/gbm-web/ GameBackupMonitor]
+
+
2. Overwrite the file
PlayerSettingsSave.sav
with this one: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GRnylqDCDwZvornwEWixMrIE81mg_lz-/view?usp=share_link '''Download link''']. This is the game settings save file that also contains Twitch unlocks for Gameplay Save Slots 1 and 3:
+
+
{{Fixbox|description=Twitch Drops unlock|fix=
+
# '''Trueborn skin''' for Obsidian Dark Form Foundling on Save Slot 3; only available for the Obsidian Dark Form Foundling for Shell-less "sudden death" runs (available from the Strange Altar, near the Seat of Infinity). A fiery dark skin, similar to the Corrupted skins you can get for the knights by feeding Gorf the Glimpse of Fallacy.
+
# '''Oathbreaker Axatana skin''' for Hadern on Save Slot 1
+
# '''Kytherian Lute guitar skin''' on Save Slot 1 for Hadern's Clockwork Lute (5000 tar) (clockwork rock guitar with custom tunes)
+
# The drops originally included '''Tar x500''' and '''Glimpses x5''', but these don't work, and you can use Fling Trainer or Cheat Engine to easily get more of these consumables, or git gud and get them via in-game drops from enemies.
+
}}
+
+
3. In-game, activate the workbench in your Fallgrim home and unlock the skins.
+
+
4. You'll need to redo your in-game settings, from overwriting them in step 2.

Mortal Shell is a singleplayer third-person action RPG game developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack. The game uses Unreal Engine 4.

A closed beta for the game was announced on June 11, 2020 and was available from July 3 to July 10, 2020.[2] The beta generated significant interest, resulting in the developer opening it to the public. This led to 350,000 players playing the beta.[3][4] The game was released on August 18, 2020 as a one year exclusive to Epic Games Store, and released on other storefronts a year later.

Promotional Twitch Drops

Mortal Shell ran a Twitch Drop promo campaign around August 2021 for the launch of their Virtuous Cycle DLC. Players would connect their Steam/Epic (not GOG) accounts to Twitch, watch affiliated streamers stream Mortal Shell, and receive in-game unlocks after watching/idling for several hours. Once the campaign ended, these in-game unlocks were unobtainable, and were never available for GOG players.

Here's how you can unlock them:

1. Backup your savegame. Copy the folder C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\MortalShell\Dungeonhaven\Saved\SaveGames\ or use GameBackupMonitor

2. Overwrite the file PlayerSettingsSave.sav with this one: Download link. This is the game settings save file that also contains Twitch unlocks for Gameplay Save Slots 1 and 3:

Twitch Drops unlock
 1. Trueborn skin for Obsidian Dark Form Foundling on Save Slot 3; only available for the Obsidian Dark Form Foundling for Shell-less "sudden death" runs (available from the Strange Altar, near the Seat of Infinity). A fiery dark skin, similar to the Corrupted skins you can get for the knights by feeding Gorf the Glimpse of Fallacy.
 2. Oathbreaker Axatana skin for Hadern on Save Slot 1
 3. Kytherian Lute guitar skin on Save Slot 1 for Hadern's Clockwork Lute (5000 tar) (clockwork rock guitar with custom tunes)
 4. The drops originally included Tar x500 and Glimpses x5, but these don't work, and you can use Fling Trainer or Cheat Engine to easily get more of these consumables, or git gud and get them via in-game drops from enemies.

3. In-game, activate the workbench in your Fallgrim home and unlock the skins.

4. You'll need to redo your in-game settings, from overwriting them in step 2.

Field of view (FOV)

Use the Universal Unreal Engine 4 Console Unlocker to force any FOV value[1]
 1. Follow the instructions to enable the developer console in the game.
 2. Enter FOV X where X is the desired value.
Resets at cutscenes and needs to be readjusted afterwards.
Requires to be run after each game launch.
Change FOV scaling to vertical[1]
 1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
 2. Open Engine.ini.
 3. Add the following and save the file.
[/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV
This edit causes the game to have incorrect FOV at 16:9 resolutions, severely zooming out from the character.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)

Custom anisotropic samples[1]
 1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
 2. Open Engine.ini.
 3. Add the following and save the file.

Anisotropic filtering quality can be adjusted by changing the value between 0 and 16.
