Issues fixed

Running the game on 64-bit Windows

Although the game installer is 16-bit, the actual game is 32-bit. There are two ways of running the game:

Method 1: Run the game directly from the disk

Running the exe from the disk[citation needed]
  1. In the Monopoly CD, go to the MONOPOLY folder.
  2. Run the game from MONOPOLY.EXE.

Method 2: Manually install the game

Setting up the game manually[citation needed]
  1. Somewhere on the computer, create a new folder called Monopoly. This will now be <path-to-game>.
  2. In the Monopoly CD, go to the MONOPOLY folder.
  3. Copy the contents of the folder and paste them into the folder that was created before.
  4. In the Monopoly CD, go to the SETUP\WING folder.
  5. Copy WING32.DL_ to %WINDIR%\SysWOW64.
  6. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator.
  7. In the command prompt, navigate to %WINDIR%\SysWOW64.
  8. Enter expand WING32.DL_ WING32.DLL.
  9. Go into <path-to-game>.
  10. Set MONOPOLY.EXE to compatibility mode for Windows 95 or 98/Me.
  11. Run the game from MONOPOLY.EXE.

Method 3: Use updated 64 bit installer

  1. Refer to this thread.
