Issues fixed
Washed out colors
"Negative" effect occurring randomly throughout gameplay
- A problem with the image randomly becoming negative on RTX 4xxx cards has been reported with NVIDIA drivers newer than 522.25.[5][6]
- NVIDIA driver 527.37 contains a fix for this bug[7], alternatively can be fixed by downgrading to version 522.25 or older.
Heavy stuttering, even at main menu
- It seems certain AMD CPUs with asymmetric CCDs (e.g. 7900x3D, 7950x3D) are having severe stuttering issues on Windows due to dynamic core parking.[8]
Set the Windows power plan to High Performance to prevent core parking[9]
|
- May prevent similar issues in other games in the future.
- Doesn't require installation of additional software.
- May have unintended side-effects (e.g. increased power draw) and be too drastic of a change to make for a single game (supposedly AMD recommends Windows'
Balanced power plan for their asymmetric CPUs).
|
OR
Use Process Lasso to disable Windows Dynamic Thread Priority Boost for the game's executable
|
- Only applies to Metro Exodus instead of changing the entire PC's power plan.
- Requires installation of third-party software which has some features locked behind a paywall.
- Download and install Process Lasso.
- Launch Metro Exodus.
- Find
MetroExodus.exe in Process Lasso's list of running processes and right-click on it.
- In the context menu, navigate to
CPU Priority -> Current or CPU Priority -> Always [Note 2] and uncheck "Window dynamic thread priority boosts enabled".

Advanced PhysX can be disabled which just forces the game to use simpler physics still using PhysX. Advanced mode is very performance intensive and requires a game restart to enable to disable. |
