In Windows 10, for the Steam version to work, the user must change the screen resolution to 800x600 before attempting to run the game. If not, the game itself will switch the resolution to 800x600 but will freeze immediately afterwards, requiring termination via Task Manager or the Steam client, which also resets the resolution. Presumably, other distributions of the game have the same issue.

| Windowed | 800x600 is the maximum resolution in the windowed mode. In Windows 10, for the Steam version (presumably the others as well), resolutions higher than 800x600 need to be switched to 800x600 before attempting to run the game. Neglecting this makes the game freeze on launch immediately after it forcibly changes the resolution, and has to be shut down via Task Manager, the Steam client or some other method, whichr esets the resolution. | ||
