Issues unresolved

  • Forced 800x600 resolution.
  • Cutscenes often don't work, setting 16-bit colour compatibility can help. (Alt+F4 skips cutscenes).
  • Screen can go black when clicking ActiveX objects (for e.g. minifigs or cannons).
  • ClearType is often turned off when starting the game, making text pixelated in Windows. ClearType has to be re-enabled manually.

Issues fixed

Graphical issues on newer versions of Windows

Use dgVoodoo 2
Fixes white textures/graphics in hardware/GPU mode.
  1. Navigate to the LEGO Media\LEGO Creator Harry Potter\3D Control path.
  2. Apply dgVoodoo2 to the 3D Control folder, where the ss3dlego2001.exe executable is located.
  3. Run the game, open the settings (by clicking the wrench icon) and make sure the graphics card icon (not the PC icon) is selected.

Game crashes upon launch

Run game as administrator
  1. Right-click the CreatorHP.exe at <path-to-game>. From the drop-down menu, select Properties.
  2. Once the window is open, select the Compatibility tab.
  3. Select Run this program as an administrator and Apply changes.
  4. Run the game.

Windows XP on Modern Hardware Installation Problem

Limit MaxMem
  1. Press Windows Button + R and then type msconfig.
  2. Choose the Tab boot.ini and click on Advanced Options.
  3. Check the MaxMem box and leave it on the default 2048.
  4. After installation, repeat the steps and uncheck it.
