Issues fixed

Stuttering/Tearing and Inconsistent Locked Framerate on Dream Drop Distance HD

Stuttering and Framerate Issues
On certain CPUs having multiple cores active causes stutters and frame drops during gameplay. The issue worsens when engaging the in-game or external framerate limiter.
To fix this, set one core to be used manually with Task Manager affinity or alternatively using utility Process Lasso to automatically set the affinity upon startup.
Making affinity changes permanent (setting affinity in task manager only lasts until you exit the game):
  1. Edit your preferred shortcut for launching the game (desktop and/or start menu)
  2. In the target field, set the following (just put the default contents in double quotes and prepend cmd.exe /C ...):
  • /cmd.exe c start "" /Affinity 1 "<path-to-game>\KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance.exe"
Verify correct affinity by launching the game and checking affinity in task manager (see beginning)

Game relies on internet connection on launch to verify ownership since Epic Games Launcher doesn't store offline tokens yet. Disconnecting from the internet during gameplay won't kick the player out, but a message will appear periodically asking the user to check their internet connection. This message can be dismissed by clicking the "Retry" button that appears on the message, but the message can't be dismissed when it appears as a result of switching or launching games from the menu while offline.
