Originally released individually as Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix on PlayStation 3 in 2013 to 2014 and later released as a single compilation title on PlayStation 4 in 2017, HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is a compilation containing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and cinematic remakes of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

The game was released on Epic Games Store on March 30, 2021 following an announcement on February 11, 2021 during a livestream.[2] This is the first time the Kingdom Hearts series has made its way to PC.

Issues unresolved

Game crashes randomly

The games may crash in random locations during gameplay.[14][15][16][17]
Use Re:Fined[18]
Limit the framerate to 60 FPS[19]
  • Crashes are less likely to occur at lower framerates. This means 30 is the most stable.
Enable "Refresh Rate"[20]

Some 30 and 40 series NVIDIA GPUs are experiencing corrupted textures. The cause is unknown.

Game outright refuses to work on AMD RX 7000 GPU's

The cause is unknown.[21]

Constant Stuttering on High Refresh Rate

The games don't handle Vsync and framerates over 60Hz well.
Proper 60 FPS cap - NVIDIA GPUs
  1. Set your screen's Refresh Rate to 60Hz
  2. Set ingame "Framerate" option to 60
  3. Set ingame "Refresh Rate" option to ON
  4. Open Nvidia Control Panel.
  5. Navigate to Manage 3D settings > Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX.
  6. Set Vertical Sync to Force ON, Monitor Technology to Fixed Refresh and Preferred Refresh Rate to Let The Application Decide.
  7. Click Apply to save the changes.

Notes

(This method will give the smoothest results. Cutscenes Framerate still capped at 30FPS).[22]

Game relies on internet connection to connect to EOS for statistics and will not boot when launched offline. Disconnecting from the internet during gameplay won't kick the player out, but a message will appear periodically asking the user to check their internet connection. This message can be dismissed by clicking the "Retry" button that appears on the message, but the message can't be dismissed when it appears as a result of switching or launching games from the menu while offline.
