Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is a singleplayer and multiplayer third-person shooter game in the Kane & Lynch series.
The game was ported to PC by Nixxes Software. The game lacks multiple features found in console versions, such as Splitscreen Co-op, Visual Effects, in addition to bugs not present on the Console versions.

- The game only runs in exclusive fullscreen mode by default (other screens will be blacked out).
Force windowed / remove black window[2]

- Download and run DxWnd.
- Click on Options and enable Expert mode.
- Click on Edit and Add.
- Set the Path to
<path-to-game>\kl2.exe .
- Configure one of the following options.
- Disable Run in Window for fullscreen mode.
- Enable Desktop for borderless fullscreen windowed mode.
- Set Window initial position and size to the desired values.
- Go to the Tweaks tab.
- Add win:KillBlackWindows to the active tweaks.
- Click on OK, then File and Save.
- Start the game with DxWnd running.

Missing Film Grain
- There are missing visual effects in the PC port, including the Noise Grain and other effects present on X360/PS3.
Can't turn off aim assist
- Despite there being an option in the settings to disable aim assist, it seems to have no effect whatsoever.

Crashes at start-up
The game tries to connect to a dead domain[4]

- Go to
%WINDIR%\System32\drivers\etc .
- Open the
hosts file in a text editor running as administrator.
- Add
127.0.0.1 kl2-pc-game-content.eidos.co.uk to the bottom of the file.
- Save and close the file.

OpenAL fix
|
- Download an OpenAL fix or find the default two dll files (
openAL.dll and wrap_oal.dll ) from %WINDIR%\system32 and paste them into <path-to-game>
|
Secondary screens are blacked out
- The game uses a second window, making other screens appear black.
Remove black window with DxWnd[2]

Story Mode 42% crashes
- Game crashes in story mode on any chapter on any difficulty at exactly 42%.
Lower the texture resolution from high to medium.
