Map the pause key[1]
|
|
To play the game like a classic real-time with pause RPG, you can map the pause key to the Spacebar.
- Download and install AutoHotkey.
- Create a script somewhere by right-click -> New -> AutoHotkey Script.
- The script should have the following content:
Space::SendInput {vk13sc1D45} You can replace Space ␣ with any other key that's not used in the game.
- Run the script, then launch the game. You can now use active pause by pressing your selected key.
- Don't forget to terminate the script (in the Windows task bar) once you've closed the game.
- If you run the game as admin, then you also have to run the script as admin. If it still doesn't work, look for one of the solutions here.

Issues unresolved
In-game mouse acceleration
The game implements very heavy handed acceleration profiles, there is no option to turn this off in-game nor on an .ini file. This is especially prevalent with "gaming" mice where you have very high potential sensitivities.[citation needed]
Some possible solutions include, using a basic, no frills mouse and/or playing at a very high resolution.[citation needed]
Issues fixed
Run the game at screen refresh rate
- Fullscreen mode defaults to 100 Hz, even if the screen refresh rate is set higher than that.
|
Set screen refresh rate[citation needed]
|
- Go to the configuration file(s) location.
- Open
d3dparams.ini.
- Change
MaxRefreshRate=100 to the screen refresh rate (e.g. MaxRefreshRate=120).
