Issues fixed

Game does not start on Windows 8 and later

Use replacement DLLs[4]
  1. Download the latest version of ogg-winmm.
  2. Extract to the installation folder, replacing the existing files when prompted.
  3. Delete or rename win32.dll.
  4. Rename winmm.dll to win32.dll.

Also ensure that there is no spaces in the name of the folder that the game is installed to. By default GOG instals it into a directory called "Incoming Forces". Eliminating the space allows it to run.

Notes

  1. SafeDisc retail DRM does not work on Windows 10[1] or Windows 11 and is disabled by default on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 when the KB3086255 update is installed.[2]
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/283390/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (283390) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
