Depending on your version (1.00d being the latest), download "ver1.00->ver1.00a" to upgrade from 1.00 to 1.00a, "ver1.00a->ver1.00d" to upgrade from 1.00a to 1.00d, "ver1.00b->ver1.00d" to upgrade from 1.00b to 1.00d and use "ver1.00->ver1.00a" with "ver1.00a->ver1.00d" if you have 1.00c.

MIDI Option with Sound Canvas VA

The game's MIDI option was intended to be used with a Roland SC-88 Pro. Alternatively, an officially released software synth called Sound Canvas VA can be used, which emulates all four Sound Canvas modules, including the SC-88 Pro

Instructions

Download SAVIHost. Place the SAVIHost EXE in C:\ProgramData\Roland Cloud\Sound Canvas VA, and rename it SOUND Canvas VA.exe. Install LoopMIDI and MIDIMapper Open LoopMIDI and the EXE you renamed. In SAVIHost, make sure to click "Options" and then "SYSTEM" in the Sound Canvas VA interface, and set the Map Mode to "SC-88Pro" Go to the Devices menu, and select "MIDI". Then set "Input Port 1" to "loopMIDI Port" Open MIDIMapper, and set the default MIDI device to "loopMIDI Port". Notes Unless Sound Canvas VA is registered, it will only play for 10 minutes before it stops playing. This can somewhat be alleviated by simply closing the SAVIHost window, and opening it again.

Issues fixed

DirectDraw problems from DirectX 8

Fixes multiple issues, like the Win10 full-screen error and DLL "Entry Point Not Found" error.

Download files
Download the ESB DX8 to DX9 converter. Extract files to the installation folder. Game should run as usual. Alternatively could use Ultimate ASI Loader (which integrates Crosire's d3d8to9) by renaming dinput8.dll to d3d8.dll and adding the following to a global.ini file: [GlobalSets] UseD3D8to9=1 This allows other files that would modify d3d8.dll to be loaded by renaming their extension to '.asi'.

Disables the showing of the player's hitbox whenever the Focus key (default ⇧ Shift) is pressed like earlier games.

Makes the game harder by making bullets faster and in larger quantities.

Can save up to 80% of the game's disk space by compressing the game's BGM music files into Ogg Vorbis with little if any effect on the quality.
