Hitman 3 (stylized as HITMAN III) is the eighth main game in the Hitman series, and the third game in the "World of Assassination trilogy." Levels from the two previous games can be played within Hitman 3 by using "Access Passes" (previously called the "Legacy Pack" in Hitman 2) with upgrades to lighting, reflections, physics, etc.
At launch, caveats exist for importing levels from previous games. See the Player Guide by IO Interactive for more information.
- Owners of Hitman on the Epic Games Store will automatically receive an appropriate "Access Pass" containing levels and other content from Hitman 2016. Pre-ordering Hitman 3 or purchasing it during the first 10 days grants free access to the Hitman 2016 Access Pass without prior ownership. Owners of Hitman 2016 and all versions (standard, silver, gold) of Hitman 2 on Steam will also receive a free Access Pass at a later date. Progress (gear unlocks, location mastery, etc.) can be imported from Hitman 2 on Steam to Hitman 3 on Epic, though this can only be done once.[1]
- If you don't own Hitman 2016 on Epic Games Store or receive the Hitman 2016 Access Pass during the first 10 days, but own Hitman 2016 on Steam, like Hitman 2 an appropriate Access Pass will be granted at a later date.
- The game requires a constant internet connection for some features to work properly (Contracts mode and Challenge progression).[2]
