- All versions require Battle.net DRM and a constant internet connection for all game modes, as well as a free Battle.net account.
- All expansions and Adventure packs (excluding Heroes) can be purchased with in-game gold, making them effectively "free" (700 gold per Adventure pack "wing", with each Adventure pack containing 4-5 wings)
- Individual cards from all released decks can be made via the in-game crafting system (even discontinued expansions). Note that cards from Adventure packs can only be crafted once they have been discontinued
- As of February 2, 2016, expansions and Adventure packs older than 2 years after initial release will no longer be sold in the in-game store, with newer expansions taking their place[4]
- Cards from discontinued expansions and Adventure packs cannot be used in Standard play[4]
