Issues fixed

Choppy animations

Turn off v-sync[citation needed]

Disable v-sync through the graphics card control panel.

Stuck quests

Stuck quests[citation needed]
  1. Go to main menu.
  2. Select your save to continue.
  3. Make sure difficulty isn't set to Hard before loading.

Notes

Do not play with Hard difficulty. When Hard difficulty is active, NPCs sometimes don't move in the necessary way that progresses a quest/task and will remain in place. Turning difficulty to Normal fixes this.
One example of this is the quest where you meet Fred and George in the Transfiguration Courtyard, and after learning "Stupefy" have to duel a Slytherin student. Upon defeating him, he stands in place indefinitely instead of running away causing you to be stuck in the cutscene.
Another example is when you have to sneak into Umbridge's office for Ginny using the invisibility cloak. When you knock the pots off the tables, the students stand in place instead of moving towards the broken pots, preventing you from advancing the quest.
