  2. Delete intro.mp4

If the game refuses to start when the intro video is simply deleted, it can instead be replaced with a dummy file to skip it.

  1. Go to <path-to-game>\videos\
  2. Delete intro.mp4
  3. Download this placeholder video file, rename it into intro.mp4
  4. Place the downloaded file where the old intro.mp4 file was

Disable Chat Filter

Instructions
By default, the game comes with a (rather strict) text chat filter that cannot be disabled within the UI.
  1. Open up SpecControlSettings.json with a text editor. (See configuration file(s) location.)
  2. Find text_chat_filter_enabled
  3. Change "value" from 1 to 0.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)
Shown as "Texture filtering" in settings.[7] Doesn't work with a lot of terrain textures (yet?).
Anti-aliasing (AA)
Forces TAA with 'high' and 'low' presets, no option to disable.
Vertical sync (Vsync)
If game stutters due to Gsync, Freesync or VRR then enable Vsync in your GPU CP, disable it in game and set max FPS to unlocked (unlimited). If you need a frame rate cap use the one in your GPU CP only.
60 FPS and 120+ FPS
Custom limit is available when Vsync is disabled, can be set up to 960 FPS.[8] Characters and objects in cutscenes are animated at 30FPS, though this may be a bug as the camera and other effects are animated at the proper framerate. If you get stutter during gameplay, see Vsync notes above.
High dynamic range display (HDR)
HDR slider controls peak luminance (uses an arbitrary 0-100 scale rather than mapping directly to cd/m2 value).[9] Brightness slider controls black level.
Ray tracing (RT)
Support for ray-tracing is comming in a post-launch update[10]
Color blind mode
Multiple settings to change enemy outline color in matches and theatre mode as well as subtitles.

Issues

Save game data corruption

There is currently a persistent issue relating to the detection of multiple inputs that causes a double sign-in bug, as seen here. If this occurs, attempting to load up a save will currently result in the save data being irreparably corrupted. While there is no official word from 343 on this issue, it is currently recommended to manually back up your save files until it is resolved. This is also known to affect multiplayer matches, as seen here.

This issue may be resolved by those who are actively using two devices to play Halo Infinite, such as an Xbox and the Windows Store version of the game or two PCs over Steam - if the corrupted save data is not synced over the cloud to the alternative device, an earlier version may be restored by replacing the cloud save data through active progression of the local copy and allowing a re-sync of this version.

Note: This is known to frequently occur if a controller is disconnected and reconnected during play, or if multiple accounts are signed in at once on an Xbox. If you get a "Lets go!" pop-up prompting you to log back in during play, do NOT accept it and exit the game immediately.

Issues fixed

Corrupt/Stuttering audio

Disable Inactive Mute

There is a bug with the game's Inactive Mute option. Go to Settings>Audio and uncheck the option Inactive Mute. As a side effect of this workaround, audio will stay enabled even when the game window is minimized or unfocused.

Reconnect your audio device

Disconnect and reconnect your audio device during a match.

Update drivers

You can try updating the sound card drivers, audio device drivers, and the proprietary device management software if in use.

Poor quality audio on Bluetooth devices

Halo Infinite should be closed before performing the steps below
Disable hands-free telephony service
  1. Open the Control Panel to Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right click the Bluetooth device and select Properties > Services.
  3. Untick the Hands-free Telephony service.

Improve performance

Uninstall Multiplayer, and Campaign, Hi-Res Textures DLCs
  1. On Steam, right click Halo Infinite
  2. Click Properties, then DLC
  3. Untick 'Multiplayer Hi-Res Textures', and 'Campaign Hi-Res Textures'.
  4. This drastically improves performance, and frames per second
Disable Xbox Game Bar
  1. Open Windows settings
  2. Click Gaming, the 3rd option on the left side, with the Xbox logo
  3. Use the slider to set Xbox Game Bar to Off.
  4. This will improve performance slightly
Disable Steam overlay
  1. On Steam, right click Halo Infinite
  2. Click Properties
  3. Untick 'Enable Steam overlay'
  4. This should slightly improve frame rate

Reduce crashing

Disconnect multiple monitors
  1. If using more than one monitor, unplug all but the primary monitor from your PC.
  2. Doing this will reduce crashing.
Enable vertical sync
  1. In Halo Infinite, go to settings, and enable Vsync.
  2. Some Steam forums users have reported this reduces crashing.

Issues connecting to the server

Disconnecting from any vpn services and disabling all network Connections except the one being currently used should fix this issue.
