Modify the game executable to fix Pillarboxing and Vert- scaling.[2]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\RED\Binaries\Win64\
  2. Make a backup copy of GGST-Win64-Shipping.exe.
  3. Open the original GGST-Win64-Shipping.exe in a hex editor, such as HxD.

21:9 (2560x1080):

  1. Search for 39 8E E3 3F C7, and replace with 26 B4 17 40 C7 to remove pillarboxes in offline modes.
  2. Search for 39 8E E3 3F 48 8D, and replace with 26 B4 17 40 48 8D to remove pillarboxes in online matches.
  3. Search for 35 FA 0E 3C 8F C2, and replace with 34 FA 3E 3C 8F C2 to change the FOV.

21:9 (3440x1440):

  2. Search for 39 8E E3 3F 48 8D, and replace with 39 8E 63 40 48 8D to remove pillarboxes in online matches.
  3. Search for 35 FA 0E 3C 00 00, and replace with 33 FA 6E 3C 8F C2 to change the FOV.[3]
  • When finding and replacing these hex values, make sure that the find/replace tools are using "Hex-values" mode, and search direction (if using HxD) is set to All (Forward and Backward).
GGST-Win64-Shipping.exe needs to be unpacked with Steamless before being modified.
The player health portion of the HUD will appear stretched, and the tension meter is anchored towards the left side of the screen.
