Issues fixed

Windows

OpenGL features aren't available, even though GPU supports OpenGL 3.3

Use dedicated GPU for game[2]
  1. Open the Nvidia Control Panel, go to Manage 3D Settings, Program Settings.
  2. Set Grim Fandango to use the High Performance Nvidia Processor.

Issues unresolved

Loud motor sound throughout Rubacava

You may hear a loud motor sound at times throughout Rubacava. This is the sound of the motor pump in Toto's tattoo parlor. While the bug was never fixed, as a workaround if you hear the noise, enter Toto's tattoo parlor and exit it again. This should stop the sound.[3]

Notes

  1. The actual video files have been already upscaled from 640x480 to 1920x1080 using bicubic upscaling and burned-in pillarboxes. This results in a softer image with less aliasing and fewer noticeable compression artefacts than the original.
