Disable camera sway

The vanilla version of GreedFall has a camera sway effect that has caused discomfort for some players.

Remove camera swaying motions^[2]

Download the Camera overhaul mod from NexusMods.
Extract the files into GreedFall's installation folder.

Notes

This mod will remove the default camera swaying motions, expand the FOV slider, remove the camera shake effect on hit, and normalize certain FOV transitions.

Both SLI files can be opened and edited using standard text editors to fine-tune values.

Change game language^[3]

From the Steam library, right-click GreedFall and select Properties.
Select a language and confirm the change.
Steam will redownload all necessary files.

Notes

If the game was purchased from a Chinese or Russian retailer other than Steam, other languages are not included.^[3]

No voices in dialogue

According to the official FAQ, this bug is related to using Windows virtual surround sound features.

Disable Virtual Surround Sound^[4]
In the taskbar, right-click the audio/volume icon and select Open Sound Settings. Click on Open Sound Settings. After selecting the correct audio output device, click Device Properties. Set Spatial sound format to Off. Under Additional Device Properties, find the Spatial sound tab and ensure that 7.1 virtual sound sound is disabled.

Issues unresolved

Incorrect voice lines for male/female character

Some users have noted that certain voice lines will play incorrectly based on gender (e.g. being referred to as "sir" in a playthrough with the female character or vice versa).^[5]

The cause is unknown; however, this only happens occasionally, and English subtitles are generally correct.

Magic abilities severely slowed after Ranged Shadow Impact upgrade

The Ranged Shadow Impact ability in the Magic skill tree will cause the player to have a much slower rate of fire. Whether this is a bug or an undisclosed side effect of the upgrade is unclear.^[6]

The Magic skill immediately after Ranged Shadow Impact, Whirlwind of Shadows, will greatly improve speed, compensating for this issue. It is recommended to save two talent points and unlock both upgrades together when acquiring this upgrade, or avoid it altogether if possible.
