Version differences

Due to game's problems with compatibility, it's highly recommended to buy the GOG.com or Steam version as both offer an easy way to return the product. See GOG.com's 30 Day Money Back Guarantee or Steam Refunds for additional information and rules of returning the product.
Retail versions for Mac and Linux, as well as the Linux demo, are native ports, while the digital releases are Wine-based ports.[4][5] See this video for comparison of the Linux version.

Issues fixed

Screen Flickering

Use workaround[7]
  • In game's launcher choose your graphics card (AMD Radeon).
  • Check Disable Hardware Zoom box.
  • Alt+Tab to desktop a few times.
Use Software renderer[citation needed]
  • If all of the above fails, choose Software Renderer in game's launcher.
Launch a game in window mode[citation needed]
Launching a game in window mode may solve problems with screen flickering. See Windowed.

Incubus Boss Crash

The freeze occurs when an Incubus mine detonates after any Incubus had died.

Workaround[8]
  • To avoid this problem, kill the other monsters first, then weaken both Incubuses and kill them in the same turn (so the battle is over before the detonations).

FFDShow causing a game to crash

Add Gorky 17 to exception in FFDShow[9]
  1. Run your ffdshow video decoder configuration.
  2. Look for DirectShow control on the left menu
  3. Check the box named don't use ffdshow in.
  4. Click on the Edit button in front of it.
  5. Click the add button and browse to the gorky17.exe in the installation folder.
  6. Apply all changes.
