Run classic mode in ScummVM
Use FT reMONSTERed and DoubleFine Explorer[7]

- These extraction instructions are for Windows only, but the extracted game files can be played on any operating system or console supported by ScummVM.
- Download
FT_reMONSTERed-Windows.zip and extract the contents to <path-to-game>\ .
- Download
ffmpeg-release-essentials.7z and extract the contents of the bin\ subdirectory to <path-to-game>\ :
ffmpeg.exe , ffplay.exe , and ffprobe.exe should all be directly in <path-to-game>\ .
- In File Explorer, drag
<path-to-game>\full.data to <path-to-game>\remonster.exe to generate ft.la0 , ft.la1 , monster.so3 , DATA\*.* and VIDEO\*.* .
- Delete the
DATA\ and VIDEO\ directories, as well as their contents.
- Although the
DATA and VIDEO files created by FT reMONSTERED are functional, the tool's downmixing adds a significant amount of reverb to the extracted audio files.
- Download
DoubleFineExplorer*.zip and extract the contents to any directory.
- Run
DoubleFine_Explorer.exe .
- Select Open → Full Throttle Remastered →
<path-to-game>\full.data .
- Type
data/ into DoubleFine Explorer's search bar to hide all files except for DATA files.
- Select Save All Files → Save all visible files (raw dump) →
<path-to-game>\ to extract DATA files.
- Move the contents of
<path-to-game>\*\DATA\ to <path-to-game>\DATA\ , where * is an abbreviation of the preferred language (e.g., EN for English).
- Clear DoubleFine Explorer's search bar and type
video/ into it to hide all files except for VIDEO files.
- Select Save All Files → Save all visible files (raw dump) →
<path-to-game>\ to extract VIDEO files.
- Move the contents of
<path-to-game>\*\VIDEO\ to <path-to-game>\VIDEO\ , where * is an abbreviation of the preferred language (e.g., DE for German).
- Delete the
DE\ , EN\ , FR\ , IT\ , PT\ and SP\ directories, as well as their contents.
- (Optional) Move
ft.la0 , ft.la1 , monster.so3 , DATA\ , and VIDEO\ to their own directory.
- Choose Add Game in ScummVM and navigate to
<path-to-game>\ or the newly chosen directory to add Full Throttle.
- (Optional) Delete
<path-to-game>\ff*.exe files.
- (Optional) Delete
<path-to-game>\remonster.exe .
- (Optional) Delete the DoubleFine Explorer files.
