Essential improvements

Skip intro videos (Steam)

Delete, rename or move the intro video file[citation needed]
  1. Go to <Steam-folder>\steamapps\common\ForzaHorizon4\media\ui\videos\
  2. Delete the file T10_MS_Combined.bk2

Notes

Instead of the too loud intro video now only a silent black screen is displayed.
The game might now load a little faster into the main menu if your PC is fast enough.
This may need to be redone every time a new patch drops.

Game crashes

freezes during gameplay (every 10-120 minutes, but audio resumes):
  1. Roll back to Nvidia Driver 522.25 or earlier until an official fix is released.
After intro movies:
  1. Set 48000Hz and 24 bit in Control Panel->Sound, or
  2. Use integrated card instead of e.g. X-Fi, or
  3. Disable enhancements in Sound (fix for AIM cards)
During gameplay:
  1. Create bat file and run before playing (close on exit)

Missing 30fps Frame Rate Option

Some displays might not be able to see the 30fps Frame Rate option in the video settings. To solve this change your desktop refresh rate to 30 Hz.

Anisotropic Filtering is not working correctly

Forcing AF in the driver settings will cause it to not work correctly. Set Anisotropic Filtering to Application-controlled in your graphics card driver and then change it to your desired value in game.
