Downloadable content (DLC) and expansions

Visit Final Fantasy Wiki for more information on DLC.
Includes the following DLC from the console versions in the base game:[1] Note that the Coliseum Battles and Scenarios are only available after completing the game.
  • Coliseum Battle Opponents: Omega, Lightning & Amodar, Nabaat, Ultros & Typhon, PuPu, Gilgamesh
  • Serah's Outfits: Summoner's Garb, Beachwear, White Mage
  • Noel's Outfits: Battle Attire, Spacetime Guardian, Black Mage
  • Mog's Outfits: A Wondrous Wardrobe
  • Sazh's Story Scenario: Heads or Tails?
  • Lightning's Story Scenario: Requiem of the Goddess
  • Snow's Story Scenario: Perpetual Battlefield
The following DLC are not available on PC out-of-box due to copyright and licensing issues, but can be enabled using the Console Content Patch:
  • 2 outfits for Serah: N7 Armor (from Mass Effect 3); Style and Steel
  • 2 outfits for Noel: N7 Armor (from Mass Effect 3); Assassin's Creed
  • All 5 DLC weapons (3 bows for Serah, 2 swords for Noel)
  • 5 Japan-exclusive accessories (Delicate Diva's Microphone, Delicate Diva's Headphones, Delicate Goddess's Bangle, Delicate Goddess's Earring, and Stiltzkin's Diary)

Essential improvements

Console Content Patch

This restores and unlocks all DLC normally unavailable in-game due to copyright and licensing issues. It also adds Serah's FFXIII outfit as a bonus.

Leviathan's Tears Mod

The PC version's rain has broken translucency. This replaces it with parameters for a higher resolution version of the original PS3's rain textures.

FF13Fix mod

Mod that fixes low framerates on capable machines, and uncaps framerates. How this works:
  • Removes aggressive frame pacer (proper triple buffer implementation).
  • Disables constant checks for input devices.
  • Uncaps framerate, also properly utilizes the display's refresh rate.
  • Fixes the slowdown when 2D elements are drawn in the HUD
  • Fixes missing text on enemy scans.
  • Enables vibration support.
  • Works around the screen glitches when using 2560x1440 resolution
This fix is NOT compatible with GeDoSaTo.

See the section on this issue for Final Fantasy XIII

2560x1440 unsupported

The section on this issue for Final Fantasy XIII applies to this game as well, workarounds included. The simplest fix is to use FF13Fix.

Inconsistent frame rate

The section on this issue for Final Fantasy XIII applies to this game as well, workarounds included. The game complicates this issue further with depth of field and additional post-processing effect rendering issues.
Use FF13Fix as it removes the frame pacer and the slowdown caused by the drawing of 2D elements on screen.

Launcher doesn't launch

See the corresponding section in Final Fantasy XIII.

Controller vibration doesn't work

See the corresponding section in Final Fantasy XIII.

Broken surround sound & buzzing sound

This issue occurs when not in stereo (2 channels) or 6 channel mode due to the game incorrectly filling audio buffers, causing buzzing audio and incorrect voice positioning.[2][3]
Set your sound card to use stereo (2 channels) or 6 channel modes[4]
Try setting the FFXiii2Launcher.exe compatibility to Vista or Windows 7

See the corresponding section in Final Fantasy XIII.
