Issues fixed

Crashes after splash screen

Edit options.cfg[citation needed]
If using a GTX 570 graphics card, you may have to lower your clock speed to 720-760 MHz.[citation needed]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>
  2. Edit options.cfg.
  3. Remove the # character preceding the following lines.
#-motionblurscale:0.0
#-d3d9
#-noptt

Notes

This turns off motion blur, uses DirectX 9, and turns off push-to-talk. The most likely culprit is the motion blur, so you might only have to change that.

Other crashes/instability

Possible solutions[2]
  • Switch to Direct3D 9 mode with the -d3d9 parameter.
  • Update graphics/sound drivers to their latest versions.

Notes

  1. When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/21100/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (21100) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
