Anti-aliasing (AA)

Nvidia users can force SGSSAA in DirectX 9 regardless of Enhanced Graphics setting. For games earlier than 2008 (including The Complete Saga), see their individual game pages.
Force SGSSAA in Nu2 games from 2008 and later (Nvidia only)[2][3]
  1. Download and open Nvidia Profile Inspector.
  2. Open the game profile.
  3. Set Antialiasing compatibility to 0x004010C1.
  4. For games from 2011 onward, set Antialiasing fix to On.
  5. Set Antialiasing - Behavior flags to None.
  6. Set Antialiasing - Mode to Override any application setting.
  7. Set Antialiasing - Setting to 2x [2x Multisampling], 4x [4x Multisampling], or 8xQ [8x Multisampling] based on the level of anti-aliasing you wish to use.
  8. Set Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling to 2x Sparse Grid Supersampling, 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling, or 8x Sparse Grid Supersampling, but make it the same value as in the preceding step.
  9. Apply changes and exit.

Notes

Depth of Field does not work properly in some games when the compatibility bit is set.
LOD adjustment is not necessary.[2]
Lego Indiana Jones 1, Lego Batman 1, and Prince Caspian also support MSAA without SGSSAA.

Game data and modding

Extracting game files

Use QuickBMS[4][5]
  1. Download QuickBMS and the ttgames.bms script (direct download).
  2. Create a new directory (which this guide will henceforth refer to as Extracted). [Note 1]
  3. Copy the <path-to-game>\AUDIO and <path-to-game>\MOVIES folders (if present) to the newly created Extracted folder.
  4. Copy all .EXE and .DLL files from <path-to-game> to the Extracted folder.
  5. Run quickbms.exe or quickbms_4gb_files.exe.
  6. When prompted for the BMS script, choose the appropriate ttgames.bms file.
  7. When prompted which files to extract, select all of the .DAT files in <path-to-game>, except for unins000.dat (if present).
  8. When prompted for the destinatin directory, choose the previously created Extracted folder.
  9. When it prompts asking what to do with files that have the same name, press R, then hit Enter.

Notes

Newer versions of QuickBMS are known to have issues with some games, such as Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Versions 0.9.0 through 0.9.2 (direct download) are known to be the most compatible.
Newer versions of the ttgames.bms script are known to have issues with some games, such as Lego City Undercover. An older version from around 2017, such as v0.9.6 (direct download, if the other link doesn't download as a .bms file), may work better.
For Lego Jurassic World, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Lego Dimensions, a slightly modified script is necessary, and some files may not extract correctly.

Patching executables to run extracted

Newer games require a modified executable in order to run with the DAT files extracted, a list is as follows:

These can be patched using TTGamesPatcher by dragging the game executable onto TTGamesPatcher.exe, or by running TTGamesPatcher.exe with game's executable as as command line argument.

Notes

  1. Newer games can have really long paths, so it may be necessary to extract somewhere like C:\Nu, then, if Long Paths are enabled, the folder can be moved to somewhere else after extraction.
