Games running on the GoldSrc engine can utilize GoldSrc Engine Console Commands for various tasks.
The GoldSrc engine is based on the original Quake engine, and carries over many of its problems. In 2013, the GoldSrc engine was ported to a new codebase utilizing SDL2 and OpenGL, allowing all the games using it to be largely cross-platform.
Issues
The game speed is tied to the framerate, and can cause problems with physics with framerates in excess of 100.
