It was first released on PlayStation 2 as Shin Sangokumusou 4 (Japanese: 真・三國無双4) in Japan on February 24, 2005, as Dynasty Warriors 5 in North America on March 29, 2005 and PAL version on June 24, 2005. The game received a Xbox port release on August 25, 2005 for Japan, September 13, 2005 for North America and September 23, 2005 for PAL version.
