It was first released as Shin Sangokumusou 3 (Japanese: 真・三國無双3) on PlayStation 2 in Japan on February 27, 2003, in North America on March 25, 2003 and PAL version on June 27, 2003. The game was later ported to Xbox on September 4, 2003 in Japan, September 30, 2003 in North America and November 14, 2003 for PAL version. PC port was first released on March 30, 2005[2] in Japan under the name of Shin Sangokumusou 3 Hyper (Japanese: 真・三國無双3 ハイパー) while Traditional Chinese version and Korean version was released on July 15, 2005[3][4] in Asia and Korea under the name of Zhen San Guo Wu Shuang 3 Hyper (Traditional Chinese: 真‧三國無雙3 Hyper) and Jin Samgug Mussang 3 Haipeo (Korean: 진・삼국무쌍3 하이퍼).
