Anti-aliasing (AA)

SGSSAA can be forced with Nvidia Inspector (Nvidia cards only).
Set AA with Nvidia Profile Inspector[4]
  1. Download and run Nvidia Profile Inspector.
  2. Copy the compatibility bits for Deus Ex Human Revolution to a new profile for Deus Ex: The Fall.
  3. Set the anti-aliasing quality and sampling for the profile.
  4. Click Apply to save your changes.

The 1.0.1 patch did not add surround sound support, it simply corrected an incompatibility with surround sound systems.[5]

Issues unresolved

Third-party XInput controller not recognised

Third-party XInput controllers do not work with this game; only official Microsoft controllers are detected correctly. There is no known solution.[6]

Issues fixed

Loading stops at "Downloading assets... 0%"

Restart Steam in offline mode[7]
  1. Restart Steam in offline mode.
  2. Run the game.
Delete configuration folder[8]
  1. Go to the configuration file location.
  2. Delete or rename the Deus Ex_ The Fall folder.
  3. The game should now launch properly.

Games crashes upon launch

Block EXE in firewall[citation needed]
  1. Close the game and make sure the .exe isn't running in Task Manager
  2. Open your firewall (Windows Firewall works well)
  3. Create an outbound traffic rule that blocks the game's .exe file within the steamapps folder.
