Issues fixed

Crash on load of save game

Sometimes, the game crashes when trying to load your save game, essentially forcing you to restart from the beginning.[1] Fortunately, developer Hothead created a patch that fixes the issue in many cases; unfortunately, the patch was not published on Steam and needs to be applied manually. Due to the age of the game and the discussion surrounding this issue, as of 2017, the documentation on this fix is hard to find.

Getting and installing the unofficial patch[2]
  1. Download and open the following archive.
  2. Go to <path-to-game>.
  3. Replace the existing GameData-000001000.gg with the file from the archive.
  4. Launch the game.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/18050/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (18050) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
