Issues fixed

Redists always installing at game startup

Even though most of the following were not tested with this particular game, these are the recommended methods for this problem (see Borderlands 2) since this may be caused by Steam itself.
Make Folder Writable[5]
Issue can be fixed by making the entire Deadpool folder writable.
This is the preferred solution as it is the simplest, most convenient and safest option.
  1. Right-click on the installation folder.
  2. Choose Properties, and uncheck the 'read-only' option.
  3. When starting the game, the redistributables should update one more time.
  4. The next time the game is launched, they will not attempt to install again.
Click 'No' To Allow Changes[citation needed]
  1. After launching the game, it will ask to allow it to make changes to your computer.
  2. Click 'No' at this stage.
Delete Redist Folder[6]
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Delete or rename the Redist folder.

Notes

Every time 'verify local game files' is activated, the Redist folder will also be redownloaded, reinitiating this problem.
Regedit[2][7]
  1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Valve\Steam\Apps\224060
  2. Look at the installscript.vdf in the installation folder.
  3. Open installscript.vdf with Notepad and look at the names in quotes before each line of process 1.
  4. Add the DWORD with a value of 1 which will tell Steam that the process has been completed and it will not launch again.

Notes

  1. When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/224060/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (224060) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
