Days Gone is a third-person open world survival horror game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The PC version includes graphical enhancements not seen in console versions, such as Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI) and increased texture quality.[2]

The game was first released for PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019. The PC version was announced on February 23, 2021 as part of Sony's plan to bring multiple PlayStation titles to PC.[3] This is the first time Bend Studio releases a game on PC.

Shortly after the release of the game, critics and users praised the quality of the port, with Eurogamer calling it a "quality conversion that elevates the console experience".[4]

Fluctuating game speed during gameplay

Some users and Digital Foundry report that an issue occurs during gameplay (and most noticeably during bike riding segments) where the game speed rapidly fluctuates between full speed and a lower speed.[24][25][26][27]

Notes

  1. Unreal Engine 4 engine build: 4.11.1[1]
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/1259420/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (1259420) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
  3. The Cheat Engine table affects the FOV for cutscenes, the map menu, and sniper rifle scopes as well.
  4. Attempting to disable Temporal Anti-Aliasing using a command console injector causes issues with UI elements not appearing, alongside causing issues with the render scale option being above or below 100%.[11]
  5. While the game has issues detecting DualSense controllers wirelessly, it is accepted wirelessly through Steam Input.[15]
  6. The in-game "Motion Sensor Function Aiming" option only works when a DualShock 4 or DualSense controller is connected natively though USB. Gyro-aiming has acceleration that cannot be disabled.[17] Alternatively: you can assign [Camera Mouse] game action to the Gyro Input using Steam Input
  7. When using the "Automatic" Controller Display option, controller prompts will switch based on the controller type. You can also change the button prompts manually.[18]
  8. While analog stick input doesn't switch between Keyboard/Mouse prompts and Controller prompts, other inputs (Such as buttons or triggers) do switch between prompts.[21]
  9. Attempting to force DirectX 12 using the -d3d12 command line argument causes the game to crash on launch.[28]

"Moving around on the motorcycle or even walking about the game world can cause the speed of the game to rapidly rubber-band between normal speed and a lower game speed. When this happens, the game looks like it is having performance issues, but in reality, Days Gone is producing perfect frame-rates."
