Applies to Nvidia's GeForce GTX 400, 500, 600 series.
Download and install Nvidia GeForce 314.22 driver[7][8]

Download link: Nvidia drivers 314.22 WHQL

Notes

Even if the driver is dedicated to Windows 7 and Windows 8, Windows 10 users have also reported a better performance.
This has yet to be tested on a mobile graphics card.

Crashing at bonfires

Set Lighting Quality to low[11]

Crashing on GTX 700 series cards

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/374320/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (374320) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
