Issues fixed

Crash on startup

When the game crashes on startup with the message Error E2000: D3D Error: D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE[3][4][5], or with the error Malfunction W-2113929204: Unnamed Error no. -2113929204 (the error hash is {289a12fb-10fd-bb5b-3edc-4567046643a5}), then apply the following fix. This is a DirectX-error.

Use WineD3D
  1. Download WineD3D here. This fix was tested with WineD3D version 1.7.54 here, unknown if it works with the most modern versions. Download the standard version, not the x86_64 version.
  2. Copy d3d9.dll, ddraw.dll, dxgi.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll in the game folder (where the .exe is). Maybe not all of those are needed, but it works with this setup.
  3. Set compatibility of the daemonica.exe to Windows XP Service Pack 2 and set override high dpi scaling to system. These two steps might not be required.
  4. Now you can start the game without problems.

Alternatively:

Edit daemonica.cfg

Another suggested fix includes editing the daemonica.cfg. in the \Data folder, read here for more info. This has not been tested.

Other information

Middleware

No middleware information; you can edit this page to add it.
