By default, movement is bound to first four buttons of the controller. Buttons 1 (xbox A) and 4 (xbox Y) for up and down, button 2 (xbox B) for right/confirm and button 3 (xbox X) for left/cancel.
This should cover majority of controllers, but controllers like dancepads with d-pad only may be required to rebind the controller with keyboard assistant. Some controllers handling d-pad with axis may have problems with the gameplay.

Changing settings crashes the game

Reboot the system[1]

Game does not launch in fullscreen (Linux)

On Linux you may have noticed that it will always launch in windowed mode yet the game has no option for the fullscreen mode. It's possible to enable it by adding 1 after the NecroDancer.sh script executable for example, NecroDancer.sh 1.
