Patches

There are two official releases of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. The original release only supports 3DFX graphics cards, A later release from 2000 added DirectX support, as well as some file changes. Use the Croc Unofficial Update to update an older releases to the DirectX compatible one.[1]

Notes

Compatible with all fan created content.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos - Definitive Edition

Use a fan patch
Make a backup of Croc.exe (when using versions before 1.2.0 as that version dropped 32-bit support, so it came with Croc64.exe instead) and the gdata folder, in case anything goes wrong.
  1. Download the patch here.
  2. Unzip the contents of Croc Legend of the Gobbos - Definitive Edition.zip into <path-to-game>.
  3. Start the game with Croc.exe.

Notes

Can not be used together with the "music patch", Definitive Edition has it's own fix for the sound, combining these will crash the game on later levels.
On weaker PC's, higher resolutions runs slower, change lighting to "Medium Lighting FX" or lower the resolution if lag occurs.
Makes the game Linux compatible.
Ability to use every type of soundtrack (PC, PSX and DEMO).
No need for wrappers, works natively on modern Windows/Linux.
Widescreen.
