Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 – Enhanced Edition

Vvox (talkcontribs)

"The game takes full advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback, with the Furies’ whispers creating subtle vibrations that shift from left to right." I test it on pc with cable. Haptic works. Need to update main page, add this beautiful game.

Yuuyatails (talkcontribs)

Does the game also support the controller's adaptive triggers, over either USB or Bluetooth?

Removed adaptive trigger and haptic feedback table

Spez (talkcontribs)

I just noticed that it was removed from the article recently as I went to check it to see what games in recent months had wireless adaptive trigger/haptic support.

I just want to voice my opinion that I think a lot of really useful information is lost now without it and it was an extremely useful resource that i used regularly. None of the other lists for adaptive triggers, haptics, etc, nor the game specific pages, detail info like whether they work only wired vs fully wirelessly over bluetooth and the automated lists do not detail what form of native support they have since native support can mean anything from wired only, to wireless support over bluetooth but only for triggers, to full wireless bluetooth for both triggers and haptics.

I hope that info can be restored and it's removal reconsidered but if the decision to remove it is final and it wont be restored, please at least salvage the information and migrate the info to the relevant game pages, as it's loss is a major one in my opinion and a detriment to finding good detailed info on trigger+haptic support and it was the only centralized source of that info I am aware of and currently that info is now completely lost.

Yuuyatails (talkcontribs)

I have made a decision to remove the adaptive trigger and haptic feedback list (or table as you said) because one of the wiki's senior editors, Aemony, told me on the PCGamingWiki Discord server that the manually-maintained list on the controller article (and the one on the DualSense Edge article) is redundant as the automated lists already exists for those features.

These are the automated lists in question: adaptive trigger, haptic feedback.

If you're unhappy with it, you could always bring the topic to the Discord server for further discussion.

Spez (talkcontribs)

I see. I think it's a shame but I do understand the logic and time saved by having it automated, although I feel the replacement is missing info that is now fully lost (mainly the variants of native support). I'm afraid I can't really use discord, I am bedridden from disability/illness irl, live chats like discord are extremely overloading and strenuous to me, even typing like this on a static page is about my limit for the day and maybe multiple days afterwards. So I wouldn't be able to participate or voice myself there without health complications and I really can't be spending my energy to push for my opinion there on this without backlash to my health I can't afford. I wish I could, but I can't.

If at all possible, I hope the idea of salvaging it and either moving the now lost info to the game pages, or adding wired/partial wireless/full wireless distinctions to the automated lists is considered in the future at least though.

Yuuyatails (talkcontribs)

I forgot to mention this; the existence of the automated lists for the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback is only possible because the input template of the game articles was updated a few months ago, to include information about DualSense's feature support.

Take this game article for example. Scroll down to the input section and expand the PlayStation controllers field to see what controller feature the game supports, along with additional notes.

Spez (talkcontribs)

Oh, i see. Thank you, that massively changes my view on it and is a relief to me. If that's the new standard then that would solve the issue i had with it. I had looked at the Dying Light: The Beast page and saw that it just had a tick for adaptive triggers with no info on whether it's wired or wireless and then came here to see the list and if it had that info and noticed it was gone, and I assumed that it'd be the case for all of the game pages as I've not seen a game page that detailed that before and just assumed it was still the same as it used to be. I guess that page is too new to have that info yet since the game just released.

I just looked up a few other games I have and I can see they have the info now too.

Sorry for jumping the gun there, I really thought that info was lost with the removal of the original list and worried that there would be no easy ways to find out that info anymore.

Thanks again for the info, and sorry for worrying unnecessarily and taking your time. I hope you have a good day/night wherever you are in the world.

Yuuyatails (talkcontribs)

Well, not all game articles have additional support notes that say if the game supports the feature over Bluetooth or not. That's up to those who have both the game and the controller to test it out.

Cronos: The New Dawn

Darthvaderrus (talkcontribs)

The game supports adaptive triggers. The vibration seems standard. I play with a wired connection.

PS. I registered just to express my opinion that games without native controller support should be removed from the list, and only games with adaptive triggers/vibration should be included. Games that work through DSX just clutter up the list. A separate thread is needed for games with DSX, because such a list could go on forever.

haptics/audio over bluetooth

1
Pablo5425 (talkcontribs)

DSX is working on a method to have haptics/audio working with bluetooth. best case scenario it will be added in the full 3.1 release (requires virtual dualsense emulation DLC to be used in games with their official wired support)

page should be modified to mention this

Came here to mention this - glad someone else has already flagged it.

ZZZ has support for adaptive triggers. Today added an event where adaptive triggers works fully.

Shoenixs (talkcontribs)

I tried to make a video confirmation, but as best I could. Adaptive triggers really work, and in some non-standard mode (I have never seen such an effect of their work in other games, this is not a normal resistance) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6rsJAmUbfs

Proper testing procedures for audio-based haptic feedback

1
Yuuyatails (talkcontribs)

In order to test if the game natively support the audio-based haptic feedback of the DualSense controller, one need to have the SimHub app installed in order to send the audio data to the controller's audio device, specifically channel 3 and 4.

Here are the following steps:

  • For games on Steam, make sure that Steam Input is disabled. This is done to prevent any false positive.
  • Start the game and verify if the DualSense controller vibrates in-game.
  • Open the SimHub app, and go to the ShakeIt Bass Shaker menu. From there, go to the Sound Output tab and choose either the "Speaker (Wireless Controller)" or "Speaker (DualSense Wireless Controller)" in the list of audio device.
  • Expand the controller in the list, and click on the "Test now" buttons on Channel 3 and Channel 4 to send the audio data to the controller's voice-coil actuators. If the controller doesn't vibrates when clicking on the "Test now" buttons, then the game only support standard rumble.
