- Also known as SNES Controller.
Key points
- Requires adapter to connect to PC.
- Lacks native XInput support, requiring the use of a XInput wrapper (see XInput wrappers) for games that do not support DirectInput or the controller natively.
Controller variations
- In 2017 Nintendo released replica of the original SNES Controller - SNES Classic Controller which is designed for use with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Super NES Classic Edition. It can also be plugged into a Wii Remote controller, so it's possible to use it with Virtual Console SNES games on Wii or Wii U console and works with their adapters.
- Controller's cord is longer than NES Classic Controller - 1.5 m (5-foot).
Use with PC platforms
Windows
XInput wrapping
- Acting as native DirectInput controller, it's possible to use any of the generic wrappers. See the controller article for those.
Hardware
Mayflash SNES Controller Adapter
- Connects SNES or NES controller.
- Directly compatible with PC. No driver needed, just plug and play.
- Two players can play simultaneously.
- Compatible with PS3 console.
USB Super RetroPort
- Works with Super Famicom controllers and original controllers (original, third party, Super Advantage, etc)
- Does not work with peripherals: SuperScope, MultiTap, etc.
- No drivers to install or update.
Steam
