The Fanatec Speedster 2 is a racing wheel released by Fanatec in 2001. It was originally launched as Fanatec Speedster SE before the brand's renewal and the acquirement of the official license from Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Unlike its predecessor, the Speedster 2 is Fanatec's first racing wheel to be licensed by Sony Interactive Entertainment (then-known as Sony Computer Entertainment). The Speedster 2, based on the Le Mans SE, added rumble motors to the wheel. The wheel is emulated as a DualShock or DualShock 2 controller.
Because the Speedster 2 uses the proprietary PlayStation controller port, a third-party adapter is needed, and depending on what adapter is used, the wheel can show up either as a DirectInput device or an XInput device when connected to the PC. Note that outside of the included pedal set, the Speedster 2 doesn't have pressure-sensitive buttons.
